We all know the Democrats haven’t exactly been a friend to crypto over the last four years. That being said, BTC still saw new ATHs before the halving. Could it have reached much higher if it wasn’t for Gary Gensler, the crypto devil himself? Maybe. But given his rate of success in the courts it feels like crypto is the Roadrunner and the SEC is Wild E. Coyote. Sure, maybe eventually Gensler might catch his prey by strapping a rocket to his back but more likely he’s just going to shoot himself off a cliff one more time.
I’m not here to sing the praises of Harris over Trump or vice versa. I am here to discuss the possibility that things may be better than they’ve been since Biden took office regardless of who wins. First, we have close advisors of Harris who have worked for and on behalf of blockchain (David Plouffe and Gene Sperling, Cory Booker, and Brian Nelson). These people are not exactly invited to any of Elizabeth Warren’s swanky bank parties at her home on the Indian reservation. But it’s still not, as Donald Trump might say, a “Full-Throated” endorsement.
Then Harris said this in a speech at the Economic Club of Pittsburgh: “We will remain dominant in blockchain and other emerging technologies.”
So just thinking about this logically, if Harris wanted to get busy with a little taboo crypto play without anyone finding out, where better to do it than Pittsburgh?
Of course, you, me, and everyone sitting there with 10k $POPCAT in their wallets wishes she wouldn’t force us to read between the lines. She has to contend with the many people in her party who took a bunch of cash from DnD playboy, Sam Bankman-Fried. They are still trying to convince their constituents they had never heard of blockchain until FTX collapsed. And maybe this is why Harris is trying to thread the needle on her crypto messaging.
Either way, I am not all that worried about it. You can’t stop the Roadrunner. You can’t even hope to contain him. All you can do is buy and hope one of his rockets catches your bag and rips it to the sky before it comes crashing down into the ravine.
